white seedling
white albino seedling; variable growth and leaf structure
white seedling
white albino: A bright white, w*-N1012B, mutant seedling from a segregating F2 progeny showing strong anthocyanin but very little yellowing. Note that first three leaves appear to be progressively shorter; resulting from failure of feeding by the endosperm which has become quickly exhausted, depriving later leaves of source for growth.
white seedling
Vigorous w*-N346 F2 mutant seedling showing vigorous growth and faint pink anthocyanin pigmentation of leaf tip and margin and lower sheath. First three leaves as strong as normal sib because of good support from kernel endosperm.
white seedling
First two leaves (right) of a small white, w*-N58, M2 mutant seedling . Showing characteristic growth failure; slow growth, white narrow stiff leaves with wrinkled margins compare with w*-N5
white seedling
First two leaves (left) of a small narrowleaf white, w*-N492, seedling from progeny of M2 origin ear, showing weak growth and faint greening of first leaf tip.
white seedling
First two leaves (left) of white mutant seedling, w*-N220, from progeny of M2 origin ear. Normal structure but slower growing. Compare growth with other albino mutants.
white seedling
Three bluish white w*-N708A mutant seedling from a segregating F2 progeny. Showing strong anthocyanin and variable vigor.
white seedling
First two leaves (left) of y10-N5 (w*-N5), M2 mutant seedling, showing clear white color and otherwise normal growth; compare with w*-N58
