Scutellar node color Sn1 plants have anthocyanin in coleoptile, nodes, auricle, leaf blade, etc. Photo shows Sn1 expression in pericarp of mature ear at tip where husks were removed permitting sun light response. Note; that the sun exposed pigmented kernels are also smaller and tidyer than the larger loosely filled unexposed kernels(photo courtesy G. Gavazzi).
